Hello
I have a data cable that I used & use with R520 and works fine.

When i try to connect to Internet with T300 wont work just if I install a 9600bps modem. Thats the maximum speed that i can reach with the data cable. Also when i send files to T300 (themes, games, etc - with Mopher) the maximum speed is 800-900 bytes/second.
The T300 (with this data cable) is not recognized by Mobile Phone Monitor.
I can connect to phone using FMA (Float Mobile Agent) just if I disable OBEX and if i set the baudspeed to 9600 (if is higher than 9600 wont connect to phone)!

The problem is the phone or the cable is not compatible with T300?

All the informations about the cable that i can give are:
N173
KRY 101 1087 R1B
Type 4040026
Y/W0040

PS: it's an original data cable made in Sweden by Ericsson (it has a hole for attach the charger, to charge while using the phone with the data cable)

Please help,
Thanx

It works, as long as the com port speed is set to 9600. (either under windows device manager, or Hyper Terminal)

Estor man i just said that in my 1st post- i know it works if u set the port speed to 9600- but the question is: 9600bps is the limit for t300 if u use cable and not irda? If not-then the cable or the phone is the problem? Thanx

Sorry I had trouble understanding the issues you raised.

That is correct, since the cable limits it to 9600, if nothing else.

I should say you will only get 9600 performance if using a cable, although the phone itself may be able to connect at much higher speeds. i.e. if you use a PC to hook up to the phone using GPRS, the computer PROGRAM will report 48k or whatever, but your actual speed will be 9600.

If i connect to pc using gprs it sais that it has connected at 9600. Interesting that when i connect with the r520 it connect @115210 and the speed is around 3-5K and with t300 i get around 800B-1K..

The cable is probably not the problem.
I have a DCU cable. When I use it to connect to my T610, I can use the highest baud rate, MPM, and obex.

If I use the same cable to connect to a T200, the baud rate is limited to 9600, obex must be turned off, and MPM doesn't work.

Judging from that, I'd say the phone simply doesn't support those features.
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

It must support.
When i go to sonyericsson site and go to T300 there is avaiable a MPM for all E/SE phones (including T300) ...
Using this cable my R520 is detected by MPM and T300 not.

EDIT: i forgot to say that I have a SERIAL cable, not an USB one...

I have explained in detail... T200/T300 series have the serial connection limited at 9600. So if you use a cable, you'll only get 9600 speed or less.

The R520 does not have this limitation. That's why the cable connects without you setting the speed to 9600. That's also why you can get faster GPRS speed through the cable.

If you want faster connection with your T300, use an IR adapter.

DCU-11 is just a serial cable with a built-in serial-usb adapter.

Estor thanx for clarifing me. I thought my t300 was damaged. To bad that SE had put a baudrate limit for the t300 and other gprs-capable phones for cable connectivity..
