Hello, I'm new to this forum and wanted to give you a little background. I'm in the USA and have been fascinated w/ gsm phones for a couple years now and purchased my first t68 in February on ebay for $425 and was very dissapointed. It had R1b software and received extremely horrible reception. I ended up just buying a T68i last month for $425 also and now I get great service. I was told if I update the software for my oringal t68, then my reception would be great again.

The problem I'm having is finding a service center in the USA to upgrade my phone. Do these exist? I have found 1 person in Canada that said he is willing to do it for $89 but from what I've heard, this is supposed to be free, and I'm reluctant to just give my phone out to anyone not knowing that I will get it back.

Can anyone help me?

Just send your phone to a service station in Europe (England, so you can understand them, hehe).

Someone said there was a service station here in the US, but there software is limited. Either way, you have to send your phone away and may take up to a couple weeks.

The SE sevice center in in Minnesota. You have to call the "800" number (on the SE web site), get a service ticket number, then call another number and make arrangements for shipping. To date, the center has all the (production) software available on the SE's Emma server.

I tried asking Sony Ericsson about the upgrading and either the person I got was new or didn't want to help me. She said that there would be no upgrading taking place in the US and gave me a bunch of BS. But has anyone sent it to get upgraded yet? Maybe not, it's not week 20 yet...

Most CC for SE dont know what they are talking about, so we pretty much have to wait untill Week 20 untill we know for sure.

SE in the US is out-sourced. They don't have all the information and never has had. As you have pointed out, the software isn't available until FW 20 so they are not upgrading yet.
