Afternoon all,
I've just created my first theme using Theme Creator Pro. Its not very good by your standards but I think it is ok for a first attempt. It is an O2-UK theme. I'll post it later so you can see.
The problem is, when I go into "Theme info" in the Theme Editor screen, I am unable to input anything in the "Name" or "Creator" boxes. It only lets me type something into the "Modified By" box!!
What have I done wrong
Please help me cuz with it being my first theme, I don't want anybody else to take the credit for it!!
Cheers,
Skin

you forgot to type that in the first time before you closed your theme(if you close your theme without putting that info there the first time you make the theme, you cannot enter it later(might be able to fix this with a simple thing..but i dont know it, and its quite quick anyway to start over for me atleast))..
you have to restart from scratch and type that in first(that way you will be sure to get it there). this wont take to long and it gives you more practice;)

i'm sure i knew away of doing this but i just can't think of it ,
to prevent this happening again goto edit>prefrences> click extended theme tags (tab) and put your name in the v=creater box.
Hope this helps

You can actually do it by amending the XML code on your existing themes. Bes ure to do t exactly right or you'll corrupt you files tho. This is weher the info is supposed to go (it's right at the top)

If anybody feels like copying and pasting this, besure to take out the bold tags
and the spaces of course

@skin: Why you didn’t input the info before you saved the theme and closed the editor???
It makes no sense if you can edit the tags after you saved the theme!
You want to crack TCPro??? You should first find out how to use Theme Creator Pro!!!
@Ludwig, @vinnieza, @Vlammetje: there is a simple way to edit those tags after you saved the theme. Open the saved theme, select Theme Info tab, hold down CTRL key and click on Name or Creator text.
Simple undocumented feature

The thm files are actually TAR archives. If you use a decent archive program like PowerArchiver then you can work with TAR files. Rename ?.thm to ?.tar and then extract the XML file, edit this as explained above and then pop it back in the TAR file. Rename ?.tar back to ?.thm and bingo it's done. |
