Hi,
I was looking at using T610 themes on my Z600 and have noticed some problems when the desktop icon template has been edited (due to the O2 icon and the top, middle icon being different to the T610)
Does anyone know if there is a desktop template available for an O2 Z600?
The top, left Icon is the O2 logo, instead of the regular one.
Alternatively, is it possible to remove the O2 logo? |

The top left icon is there to be edited. It is an operator services icon, and operators edit it to link it directly to their services. I'm pretty sure even he you did remove it somehow it'll just be left as a blank icon.

Probably better for me to find/make an O2 specific template then. Are there any T610 O2 templates about as I could use that if I couldn't find a Z600 one.

He means that one icon on his Z600 desktop is customised by O2 (possibly branded sw)
If you can somehow produce TWO screenshots of your desktop with a uni-color back ground ( so no theme and preferably a light colour) and make sure that each screenshot has a different menu option highlighted, I'll have you a desktop in a minute for use with custommade themes
Your other option is to make themes where youdo NOT prepare icons on your desktop image. The phone will continue to paste it's own icons but you won't loose image quality that way.
If you want to i can make you a theme as well, any time after this weekend

Thanks for the offer Vlammetje, but I should be able to sort something out, using the method you suggested. |

hmmm... that's the problem of course..... there must be a way but you might very well need a dev. kit to do it.... in that case it's not meant for us mere mortals

well you could add pixel by pixel into the template and upload it to the phone untill you know its right, just use a 1px stroke in photoshop around yout template. thats what i did until i realised tcp has previews that can be easily screen captured. |

I was going to use a digital camera to get a capture of the screen, then crop/resize the desktop to the proper dimensions. I can then compare this with one of the standard T610/Z600 templates, which should give me a good starting point for getting an O2 specific template. |

probably lots easier. 128x127 px but I'm sure you already knew that

if you have good eyes you can look at it and see the pixels and work it out. |

Alternatively, I might ask the local ericsson service centre if they can remove the O2 branding when they flash the phone to the new firmware
