do you get incoming sms while another SMS is being viewed? |

this question is for everyone, though im on a T39 using R2G firmware (yeah it's old!)
anyway, i noticed that new SMS cannot be received while an SMS is open for viewing.

No, I got T68m (R2B) and it is not possible to "know" that you have got a new SMS when viewing a SMS... |

I'm thinking it's a bug (or i just don't like the way they're implementing it.)
Anyway, you do get the message once you close the SMS you're reading it. |

i think its ok coz if a new text is coming in and you are in the middle of a reply, you wont be disturbed by the message received window

Nope I am not able to receive a sms while writing or reading another one, that behavior is not a bug, on Ericsson T28 happened the same.
My T39 has R2S software version.

yes i do receive messages while viewing another SMS... but it doesnt sound (it doesnt alert me right away)... 
it sounds only after exiting the message...

Gowin, so maybe we got it wrong (for the others,this thread started as a T39 specific thread) the messages do come in but there is no notification until the current message is closed. Now that i look at it that way, it doesn't seem like a bug but just another ericsson idiosyncrasy. |

Yep, my t68 doesn't inform me of new sms while reading/writing an sms until I finish reading/writing. |

whoa! hmm, i missed that post.
anyway, they're replying here so i guess you can just monitor, and share your inputs in this thread.
In my T39, i get an alert after exiting from the SMS i am viewing, while you say that you don't get the alert at all. But the rest of the guys here are saying something else

I just tested this out, my phone beeps when I'm writing/reading an SMS. So for me, at least there's an alert
