Bluetooth is messing up my DSL.............. |

Hello
whwnever im settin up bluetooth on my computer DSL stops working. It used to work fine back in the day when i was on dial up. Anyone else has the same problem? I have 4 computers connected to a router and they all stop having internet when bluetooth is installed. I have to unistall the bluetooth , reboot and DSL is back online.
Any ides? |

I had that problem when i was using a USB cable modem and a USB bluetooth adapter. Ran the modem through ethernet and swapped around the bluetooth ports and everything was fine again.... It confused me quite a bit as to why my internet stopped working though!
Anyway, hope that helps, but from my experience (posting a similar post) nobody else has this problem! |

You have 4 computers connected on a ethernet router and when you install BT on one of the computer you loose the internet connection ? Or you have a computer who share the internet connection on the router who share to the other computers ? |

Here is my set up.
lets name them pc1, pc2 pc3 pc4
modem is connected to pc1 and on my router. All other 3 computers are connected to the router.
BT software blocks internet access to pc3 ( my personal computer) and after a while all 4 computers stop having internet. Like i mentioned on my other post i have to unistall BT reboot and DSL is back online.
i have a BELKIN BT adaptor. Maybe i need to update it but belkin's site does not have a newer versions. What other BT software will work? |

My best guess is that the Bluetooth Network Access Driver is blocking your DSL connection. Try disabling the bluetooth network card. You don't need it for normal bluetooth operation. You can also read through this, see if it's any help.
By the way, it would be helpfull to know what kind of DSL connection you have. Is it a DSL dial-up (PPPoE) or a permanent (routed) connection?

I also recall someone having this problem before. I believe it had something to do with a corrupted tcp/ip stack in windows. To reset the tcp-ip stack in windows XP use the following command:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Unfortunately I cannot give advice on this, but what I have noticed is that if you go into ipconfig, it only lists your "Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver" with an ip of 0.0.0.0
The problem here is that you should be able to select from the dropdown list your network adapter and it should display your ip address. With bluetooth installed, it does not display anything else at all. (I also have a Belkin USB adapter)
I have tried changing the network adapter priority in the advanced settings of network connections, but this makes no diference. |

Why not connecting all computers on the router ?
If you have windows XP, make a new home network, I have a WiFi USB adapter and it's a real pain to make it work on windows XP ( share internet connection for the laptop ), sometimes it blocks all connections, sometimes it won't connect at all, bad IP, thinks that it's has internet and share the connection to the ethernet, and things like that .... Maybe you have the same porblem, try to disable the network profile |

Hello
I always used to disable the bluetooth LAN connection but this did not work either.
Also, a friend of mine has the same problem with his cable connection.
I dont think there is an easy fix for it. |

I have almost the same problem. 2 comp, my comp is sharing connection with second, when i make share connection setup all my present connections do a bridge, and because of bluetooth max speed is 1mbps. After restart speed is switching to 10mbps and second comp can't get to the net!

You can't set IP address for the BT network access driver because it's in the "cable unplugged" state. Disable it, you won't miss it.
Personally, I have routed ADSL (not dial-up) at home, plugged directly into a SWITCH, sharing internet with 3 PCs. 2 of those PCs are running BlueTooth stacks for to different BT dongles. Havn't had any problems yet.
I noticed that you have a cable connection. Don't they use own/special drivers? You could be looking at driver conflicts. Try downloading the latest BT/Cable modem drivers (or windows updates). Resetting the tcp-ip stack (as I mentioned earlier) can also help...

Are you sharing your internet connection from PC1, or does your dsl router support multiple PCs? ... or is your dsl router plugged directly into a hub?
