I've been playin with my T610 for a little while now and what always stuffs me up is taking pics in the dark.
I've checked out the Flash accessory for the T610 but when doing a little bit of reading around the net i came up with the idea of using IR LED's.
I've tested it to see if it works, and it does! The test only involved going into a dark room and using a tv remote to try and light up a spot on the wall, it was dodgy but it worked 
So my goal now is to make an attachment for the T610 to use Infrared LED's to light up a room. You can see it often used on mini security cameras.
However what i would like to know is, has anyone attempted this before, any pointers before I start?
If no problems I guess I'll give updates and tests to see how it goes and leave some instructions for the daring ones

my digital camera uses ir light to light up the dark when in night vision when i transfer things through ir from my laptop to my phone you can see both things flashing |

My Sony MiniDV recorder-camera has two choices for Night Vision mode; Flash On & Flash Off. When I choose flash on, a red light turns on (right above the lens) and the image becomes more clear and brighter.

@Sony Ericsson Indonesia: Whats the LED setup for ur digital camera? ie. how many, where placed etc
I have seen many different ways to go about this, some just have 6 LED's along the side of the camera, others have a hexagon shape of up to 100 LED's.
@iyiinsan: thanks for the welcome.
Another i want to ask is what i know of infrared is you dont get colour pics...can anyone confirm that?
If it is i think thats going to be the only downside to all this. |

@sony_eric: well first test was just to get my T610 camera and point it at a TV Remote Control. Then just push a button and u can see it lights up like a White LED.
Then that got me thinking of security cameras using it.
So the next test i did was i went into a very dark room and pointed the tv remote at a sticker that was on the wall. I looked at it through the camera and i could see it
Of course a tv remote is not designed as an IR light source so it was just useless. But it showed that it worked!

Note: The IR pic used two TV remote controls about 10 cms away from the sticker. As well the pic isnt too decent as I had to hold 3 things in two hands and push 3 buttons as well :S

yeah i agree on the clarity issues, but its better than nothing. Plus it will cost less than $15 so its not really a waste |
