Having problems connecting Z600 and SE software.
Installed BT software and I can connect and up/download through BT Explorer OBEX file thingy - but the Z600 isn't recognised in either the XTNDConnect or Image Editor software.
Before I installed the BT software I could connect via IR, but now that doesn't work for the SE software either.
Any ideas ?
OS: XP Professional
BT: SMART BlueOpal USB

EDIT: think I may have found it (in the FAQ - d'oh) where does windows report the COM port used when you open a connection with the phone ?

PS. First SE phone - previous Nokia owner, but don't take it out on me - Z600 great though !

You need to go into control panel/phone monitor options and enable a Com port (I use COM 7)

Open your BT software and manually enable SERIAL PORT 2. Allow a minuite or two and it should work. Serial 1 won't work for some reason.

my BT software is showing serial 1 (connected to COM 11) and serial 2 (connected to COM 12).
so i should disable serial 1 all COMs apart from 12 ?

Disable all but COM 11
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

so what i have now is...

in Phone Monitor Options;

COM 11 enabled - all others disabled

in BT software in my Z600 folder;

obtain services
OBEX file transfer
dial-up networking
OBEX object push
serial port 1 - service mapped - COM 11
serial port 2 - not mapped
voice gateway

still no joy - where am i being stupid ?

EDIT: oh hold on - just tried it with serial port 2 mapped to COM 11 - still no joy though...

Manually open the connection by double-clicking BT serial port 1 before starting sync. You only need to manually open the connection the first time.
