As a T39 newbie, I've found 3 annoyances I'd like to know if there are any solutions for.

1) receipt of SMS is always silent, or might as well be. A single click or tone is always inaudible, and there doesn't seem to be an option to set a melody. Is there anyway to hack the system tone to make it something louder and longer, so I can know I've received a message without having to look at my phone?

2) What is the limit on bookmark address length? This seems frankly absurd these days, but my email logon site offers the option to bookmark, but I'm then told that the address is too long and cannot be stored in the phone.

3) The text input is, as expected, a little slow. This isn't really an issue except in multitap mode, where there doesn't seem to be a key to indicate that the selection is over, but not to add a space. So to type no in multitap mode, I have to be sure that the n is finished, before hitting 6 again. On other phones I have had, you could press * (for instance), and that would tell the phone you'd finished selecting the letter and to move on to the next one without inserting a space or any other character. Am I missing something?

suggested solutions:

1) weak tone. actually, you can hear a tone when you get a message but it's realy weak. i suggest you turn on the vibrate mode so you can feel (or hear if it's on a table or some other surface) when you get a message.

2) Haven't really found out the maximum. Your alternative would be to sign-up at the sonyericsson.com WAP site and use their bookmarks feature. it would probably have bigger storage than the phone's. haven't tried it though.

3) so you can move to the next character, just press the right arrow key then the left arrow key. it's not an elegant solution, but it works if you're kinda impatient.

Just wondering, do you also have GPRS available in vietnam? If you don't, you can save some batt juice if you just use GSM as the preferred service. (Settings->Data Comm-Preffered Service)
