ok I am a bit confused and I can't find the answer to this ..

tomorrow I am going to get my firmware upgraded at a Sony Ericsson service centre .. will my phone be "formatted" .. ie all games/pictures/phonebook be deleted?

i've already gotten rid of most of the vodafone crap .. will the rest be removed by the upgrade?

No, you are not suppose to lose your contacts, pics, tones & games. Although, it is advisable to make a back-up of your installed 'data' before going for a firmware upgrade. sevice centers can't be held liable for any lost data during the procedure.

I have had several upgrades, and have yet to complain about lost data.
There have been several post here, stating that they have lost SMS messages and entries in My Words, but nothing serious.
