I reside in the UAE, where the Handspring Treo600 has still not been launched. Am in the UK for a week on holidays, so I got myself a Treo600 on Orange on Contract, unfortunately, its Locked to Orange only, whcih means if I take it back to the UAE, it wont work.
The contract I've taken is 25 pound per month at the moment, to which I have to stick to atleast 3 months. The idea was, I wud've kept the 25/month for 3 months, and then moved down to 15 pound /month for the next 9 months (the whole deal was workign out about a 100 pound cheaper if I had started with the 25/month contract)
I called up orange today, told them I want to pay off the years contract now so they can unblock the phoen for me, however, I want them to charge 25pound for 3 motnh, and the 15 for next 9. The sales rep told me if I wanted to pay off now, I'll have to pay 25 for 12 months, which makes the phoen REALLY expensive for me as the contract is pretty much useless for me and I only come to the UK for 2-3 weeks/year.
Does anyone know of anyway I can talk Orange into releasing the handset?.
