On an upgrade do we get longer sms as mine is only 160 chracters which is shit and is costing to much my freind upgraded is siemens sl45 and now has 740 chracters available |

it's not cheaper with 740 characters.... the only thing is that you write it as one long sms, but then it's broken apart since the networks only allow a maximum of 160 characters in a sms, which means that if you for example write a sms that contains 300 characters it's splitted and sent as two sms, and you'll pay for two sms as well...

no cos i had a nokia 3310 and it was only costing 12 p for 360 chracters and now when i go over the 160 chracter mark on the t68 i have to pay more another 12p is this not the case ??? |

its being into 3parts or a maximum of 160 per page....
but maybe it's different w/ your service provider |

hey...i forgot to inform u, there is this option that u can type longer msg.... click menu, 2.msg, 1.sms, 6.options, 7.long sms |

A T68 on vodaphone will charge you for every text u send. Same with a 3310. If you sent a 360 character text on the 3310 it would of cost you for 3 texts, ie 36p. If you enable long texts on the T68 like dan says, you will be charged for each text, the screen will show SMS 2, SMS 3 etc. as u continue to write.
