I believe a person needs to be invited by laffen. as far as I can see that has not happened for a long time.

as for what they do... you should read the forum rules including the "moderators statement" but basically they are here to keep some sort of order

Invited by "LAFFEN" for what Massuer ??? to a lunch, dinner or what??? Is there some kind of an interview, to see how good you are with technicalities ???, if so, then I suppose, only a few celfone tek's here will pass his criterias . . . Unlucky for some who knows little or nothing about celfones therefore! Just like me, I know less knowledge about scrutinizing a fones interiors, so goes with it's trouble shootings. I graduated with a knowledge in ammunitions and explosives will that help too Masseur ??? I can provide some expertise on how to detonate a 1 ton of TNT using a celfone - having a distance of 100 mi. and with 101% accuracy ?!?

I mean invited to be a moderator.

I doubt if there is an interview but I am sure he would want to see the general types of posts that the person makes to be sure they are sound and not prone to knee jerk reactions based on their own ideas and that they consider the view of Esato as a whole.

Although I suppose some technical knowledge would be useful I think a moderator could possibly just be someone with a keen interest but being a moderator is more about keeping order in the forums (deleteing double posts, locking duplicate threads after pointing to the original, watching for flaming etc etc) so I shouldn't think technical knowledge a complete neccessity.

Anyway, I am interested in why you are asking?

As per Massuer's reply : "They are here to put some order" -pertaining to the moderator's duties, therefore, I can become a moderator too. I have some seminars and had attended some conferences too on how to implement law and order in my municipality - I am too proud to say that I am an MMDA enforcer in my place. Primary rule to consider and implement is to decongest the major thoroughfares of unwanted mobile vehicles and pedestrians too, will that help a lot Masseur, what do you think? If violators persist arrest, then I will be forced to use my magnum .45 as a last resort to implement "ORDER" Masseur. I am a law abiding citizen in my place Masseur with no records for the last 34 years to date. Can I become a "MODERATOR" then Masseur, maybe you can help me out with "LAFFEN" sounds like "APENG" (daldal) in my language - meaning "TOO QUIET GUY" .

Jojo, while I'm amazed at your technical abilities, it's a good thing you didn't use the words president and Allah in the same message that detailed your abilities to detonate an explosive charge using a mobile phone. Or else all of us might get a late knock on the door... LOL

yeah, I know you're only kidding but it seemed like alot of questions all in a row so I wanted to be sure.

hey... I've got a fan wahooo!

but seriously, thanks for the appreciation, I seem to have a few threads like that now, but really its not neccessary. I enjoy esato as much as you and really just reply because I have an interest in all things gadgety, including mobiles, but mostly because there is such a good vibe here.

i don't think there's anyone who actually disagrees that masseur would make a good moderator due to his apparent omnisciene and omnipresence. unfortunately, although probably with good reason, such decisions rest only with a chosen few and not the forum population at large.

1 thing: masseur afaik Cytech was appointed moderator only a couple of months ago, which is fairly recent imho

as for who is to be next moderator: apart from being invited to join Team Esato, the member would need to accept that invitation as well. Being a mod at such a large forum can be tough and demanding.. and not everybody is up to that challenge

Do as Masseur, be a nice guy and answer questions in a propper manner, or do as me, get Laffen really drunk...

No serious, Laffen is the one who sees the need for a new mod and dedicates the job to the one he see most suitable if the dedicatee is interested.
