Heard a lot of stories about maintenance shortcuts and parts cannibalism. I will never try to fly using that airline.

I flew aeroflot from london to moscow, then moscox to Ulaan Bataar! {also flew the reverse journey with them}. They weren't exactly luxury, and there was a lot of noise in the cabin, but apart from that it was ok. We did however make an unscheduled stop in some small russian town. No one said anything about it either, we just stopped for a while, got off the plane for 30mins, got back on and we left. Rather odd I thought! Don't worry too much, and when we flew all the first class seats were empty and we managed to blag them just by sitting down in them! The worst bit of that trip was taking off from a dirt track for a runway which faced some serious mountains whilst in a storm in a clapped out plane! Now that was worrying!

Aeroflot is ok, they've got mainly Boeing 737's on international flights. Domestic is another story though.

I agree with Froddan,
There is no real problem with Aeroflot on international routes, you even get more interesting food than on for example Finnair i.e. "real food" versus peanuts on shorter trips...

And I am Swedish so I could be considered squeamish...
I have flown with them several times and I have no major complaints.

Oh, by the way I don't think you want to be stranded in a Russian airport for days, they can be quite dinghy, with some pretty strange people milling about...
