Major problems with Telenor gprs (t68, 6310 etc..): can't call out!! |

Just read an article about major problems with Telenors (Norwegian) GPRS service. http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks/article.jhtml?articleID=313953
Basically it says that the problems occurs on newer GPRS phones (aka T68m/i and 6310) and makes it impossible to call out on these phones.
Has anybody noticed this problem here?
Telenor has know about this problem for a week noe, but havent told the customer. BAAAAAD FORM, Telenor.... (F\/cking monopolists...) |

Who uses mms anyway? Netcom intruduces it when people can use it and to a much lower price than Stjelehor.

I don't see the logic in that statement.
People can use it as soon they introduce it.
Since there already are phones out on the market
that can handle MMS. So whats to wait for. |

When people see other people with phones that
support MMS and think it looks cool they run and buy
new phones.
10Nkr is something Telenor said that don't mean
the other phonecompanys will take that high prices.
Phonecompanys makes a bundle of money cause of all the SMS'es
sent if they launch their MMS support to a resonable cost
they will make money on that too. Volumes will increase fast.
(unless they all say 10Nkr then ppl wont be able to afford to send
alot of MMS'es) |

I think its the same problem that Comviq and T68 has here in Sweden. Its sometimes impossible to call out from the phone after using the service!
But thats problem in the first place - its them which will do all the service on my phone! The least problem I notice with it - its off to service!!

Even if someone has Telenor and MMS, who are you going to send the MMS-messages to? It's not like one out of two persons who own a mobile can recieve them yet! I don't think MMS will take off until early next year! When I started using SMS, noone knew how it worked! And I even had to call a number provided by Telenor to say what I wanted to say in the message, and they would make sure it got sent! Not the most efficient way of using SMS! But ahhh.. the good old days!

I am on Netcom now. If I'm not able to use MMS with Netcom after W20(when I have my phone conterted), I will change to Telenor immedeately. I have allready ordered a MCA-20 and will get it May.3rd.
By the way: Isn't it possible to send MMS directly to E-mail-accounts? I think I have read that somewhere...
AND it should also be possible to send pitcures/sounds as E-mail with attachments if MMS is too expensive.
