What is the best software for editing pic's for the T68? |

I have fooled around a bit with some software, but the image is always distorted and ugly. So what is the best "tecnique" for altering images you have/find on the net, making them fit the 101x80 screen resolution? Have tried the "Save For Web" tool from Adobe, but it always just "distorts" the image to make it fit.
Example: If I want to change this image, what do I need to do (keep distortion to a minimum)?
I need to reduce the logo and change the canvas size....
I have Photoshop 6.0 but don't have much control over this software yet. Is there anything more "basic" that makes this easier? SE have some info on some new software on their web, but this is not yet avail.

First you have to change the image size. Go to "Image -> Image Size" and set the width (101 px). If you do not want distortion make sure the checkbox "constrain proportions" is checked.
After you have resized the image you go in "Image -> Canvas Size" and set the height to 80 px.
If you do not think the colors are bright enough you can use the "Image -> Adjust"-menu. Here you can set levels, contrast and hue/saturation.
After that use the "File -> Save For Web"- function and save it.

Try Pain Shop Pro 6.0 it's very hard to use  but it is a good program.

the palette for t68, decrease the colors according to this, then save as gif, and import it in my pictures, works like a charm for me.

this is what i did:
1. copied the image from esato.
2. File>new then ok.
3. Pasted the image.
4. image > image size. (make sure constrain proportions and resample image bicubic is ticked.)
5. chose 101 as width.
6. image > canvas size. > Height= 80
7. image > mode > indexed color > palette = custom > load palette (the act file from the previous post)
8. Save as gif.
that should be it.
