When you recieve a melody using IR, the phone will ask : PLAY MELODI ? and SAVE.
Very simple, works fine

I use the GH-musicbox, to listen to melodies, before making EMY-file.

Well...I have GH-musicbox and it's great..but when I send .emy files to my T68, nothing happens (the "play melodies" message doesn't appear)
Am I missing something here?

Hmm, I'll try.

Remember that IR-speed have to be 9600 kbps.
(SIR-seriel infrared).

The emy-files have to made in a specific way, only using the "return" on the keyboard.
And when saving the file,..remember to show "all files", or else the file will be saved as text-file.
And be sure that there are no spaces in between the code you're writing.

Copy/paste the melody from musicbox to the emyfile you're making. Remember to use RETURN afterwards.

Should look like this :
------------------------------------
begin:emelody
version:1.0
melody:.................bla bla bla......
end:emelody
------------------------------------

Do you get the "SAVE MELODY ?", when transferring through IR ?

Dont put the emyfile into a folder, leave it out on desk.

Now transfer through IR.

The phone should say : NEW MELODY, PLAY ?
say YES, afterwards SAVE.

Ok...
- I've my IR setting at 9600bps
- is this the way creating emy files :
1. open new text files
2. paste the codes
3. save as (show all files selected) bla.emy
4. result : bla.emy file (it's not on a folder)

If it is the right way, then why I still don't get the "Save Melodies"
message.

or is there a special program to make emy files?

if it's possible, would you mail me a small sample of *.emy file?
and the text code to? plz....?

As I know currently EMelodyLab is the best choice now. It can not send directly via IR, but it can save your ringtones in emy format. It is mentioned somewhere in this Discussion forum, but the homepage where you find it is:

By the way, I'm also using Ir for transferring background picture and .emy file, and I use my PC with IrDA to send it, it's ok, also since I have 9210 I'm also saving all background picture and song (.emy) to it, so whenever I need to change my background or melodies I just beam from 9210 to T68, also for archiving I use 9210 by beaming from T68 to 9210.

-------------------------------------------

Open NOTEPAD :

Dont copy/paste this text into notepad, write it yourself,..and remember to use RETURN between each line.
The only thing you can copy/paste is the "melody" itself,...after you have done this, use RETURN to go to next line.

THIS IS THE CODE for emy-file. Just write this in Notepad. The song is JingleBells.
--------------------------------------------
begin:emelody
version:1.0
melody:bbbpbbbpb+dgaB+c+c+CbbBbaabA+d
end:emelody
--------------------------------------------

Now SAVE AS : jinglebells.emy (small letters).

Now turn on IR on phone.

Your computers Ir-port should now reconize the phone.
A small IR-icon should be shown on the computer.

Now you can either "rightclick" emy-file and send via IR.
OR click the small IR-icon, and find the emy-file and SEND.
