hello folks,

I can use my p900 for WAP over GPRS without problems. When I try and use syncml or video streaming etc I can't get a network connection. I am a Vodafone customer in the UK. I can sync my calendar when the phone is in the cradle but not OTA.

The phone is great and I love all the extra features over my T610 but if I can't use the extra data features then I will be very disappointed.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I bought a new P910i [after owning a P800 then a P900] from Sony Ericsson. I spent lots of time on the telephone with Cingular, to try to get the internet access and WAP settings to work, but they were hopeless.

I then call Sony Ericsson Support, at (866)766-9374, and the technical support person was extraordinarly polite and efficient. He just asked me my cell number, told me to wait for two SMS messages and describe a few clicks that I would need to do.

Ten minutes later, the two SMS were received, I clicked as told, and everything was working fine [internet access, as well as downloading data using GRPS to my Worldmate application].

I am very impressed by the SE support and very unimpressed by the four people I talked to at Cingular, who kept repeating that because I did not buy a cingular branded phone, it may not work at all. One of them directed me to a developper forum for Cingular. I downloaded specs for settings published by Cingular, but that did not work at all.

Now I am fully functional, and I wish that I had called SE first. It took a few minutes!
