before anyone jumps down my throat, please note that i am just saying what i was told
the p900 price will drop dramatically in the next month or so as Next Generation phone is nearer compleation than originally thought probably p1000 or P980 i was told this by a employee i know 'cause being an owner of the p800 i asked him should i get the p900 and he said the price will drop dramatially if you can get it 'cheap' why not but there was no point really as the p800 should do for me till the 'real' Next big release comes etc etc and he said there is a phone all but ready in the P*** line!!
then a few days after talking to him..
aparently some photos with info of dubious quality where online last night for all of 30 minutes showing a phones that bared a somewhat uncanny resemblance to the Moto A925
apparently are going to make this phone more gamer friendly with buttons positioned similar to the moto there is still a key pad that can be removed but it looks like it can be replaced with a ''Game pad'' with console like buttons!!
also mentioned was the connectivity end of the phone supposedly is sure to have either long range Bluetooth and or WiFi the screen could be 200dpi, with profiles and better call management features, widescreen browsing of all menues including web should be available..
im thinking maybe should have just supported change etc in the p800 and then brought out this new superphone as the jump from p800 to p900 has not been 'that great' but the changes this 'new phone will bring is something that many of us thought would be on the successor to the p800, which is prob whay so many of us feel slightly Pi$$ed with
im not in the business of making stuff up and am just posting what i was told by a mate of mine who spends his life.. litterally online, he has heard me go on and on about my phones and especially the p800/p900 so this info grabbed his eye...he tried to save a picture and info for me but when he did he found the link didnt work and when he refreshed the page it was gon totally he went back in to work this evening to see if he could source the info again for me but as he clears his cash and cookies after work every night(so as not to get in trouble!!) he could'nt find it,
but i suppose there's no great shakes with this info as most of us would expect most of these features to be in the next phone anyway no? and someone must've heard or seen this info?
just was thinking though this might be a 3g phone does anyone know of plans regarding new 3g/GSM/GPRS phones besides the Z1010
thankx

Thx for the input!!! I guess there are many people out there thinking the same way. I am one of those thinking of getting one but the price seems high right now. If anyone could grab a pics for the next gen 3G P980/P1000, I am pretty sure the price is going to drop like crazy before it hits the market. Pls keep us updated!!! |

Your info about a new smartphone maybe correct, but I very much doubt it will be out for at least another six months, which is a lifetime in phone years.
A 3G phone sounds likely - that would be a great boon for lagging 3G sales.
My advice: don't put off buying the P900 because you think something better will come along soon - you will only be disppointed when it keeps getting delayed....

The prices Ive seen so far for the Z1010 SIM free is about the same as the P900 tho. Saying that '3' give massive discounts to all their handsets. Could the Z1010 help the lagging 3 network? |

Maybe it was the P-NeoMatrix.
Since Revolutions came out yesterday, they were like "What the heck...lets just show 'em a little."

i know what your saying but i could live with my p800 for another 6months, as to upgrade or as i think just migrate to the p900 is not really going to give me much more than i have now (except a number change and less money!! lol) for what i use it for.. and i use it heavily for internet and email/messaging id just like to think that when i upgrade im going to get more/better features than the ones i have on my current model, i dont really see that on the p800 to p900
i'll probably end up getting one anyway as im one of those people that 'has' to have the latest/newest gadgets etc.. i suppose its like a drug to me, i guess thats what brings most of us to places like esato/mobile9.. the fact that we're so into our technology etc
anyway dont cha just love it!!
thanx..

A successor for the P900 would have to have WiFi at least
A 3 version would be fantastic! |

Sony Ericsson is going to present the next "Big Thing" the summer of 2004 and is going to be in the market in about a year from now.
Until then just enjoy the new P900!

@pachy
your dead right of course id love one but is it worth it?
really? thats the point what new features have you got that i dont have on my p800? and dont say video cause i've been doing that on my 3650 for over a year now!!
i mean whats the point as the next phone will have enough 'new features to make it worth while, when the p800 came out it was ,like 'WOW' nothing like it before, but now with p900 its like oh thats a nice phone!! should have waited to get that 'WOW' thing agin as im sure the phone is ready it just a matter of the fact they messed up their timetable with the release of the p800 initially so we have the p900.. then the next BIG one P1000/P980
anyway im really interested in the Z1010 so will prob get that, then the next P*** series after p900
i remember when rumours of p900/p810 came out first there was a
thread about what features people would like to see on the p800 successor so lets do it again then seeing as most of peoples wishes where not answered..
maybe perhaps for all the people complaining about p900 being released and for people with it, what features then SHOULD be on this phone what is the "Holy Grail" if you will, right now for us in relation to the technology thats about etc what features would you like to see on this P1000/P980
thanks

I am of the opinion that SE will be releasing 'the next big thing' (TNBT) in the summer of 2004. To release a successor to the P800/900 would be insane for SE, they would kill of sales of the P900 and cause themselves much unnecessary financial loss.
SE have obviously spent a lot of money on manufacturing P900s and in the coming weks we will probably see an increase in advertising too, seems silly to waste money doing such things if SE are going to bring out a better model only a couple of months later.

Well look at it like this, i have sold my P800 & put an extra £135 to the money (includes a sim with some airtime every month), this is based on the £100 payment for the P9 pluss the monthly payments for the contract over the year, so even without the airtime, it's cost me £135 + P800.
The P900 MORE than justifies the extra £135 (its almost worth it just for the warranty, as my P800 would have soon not been in warranty).
When you get the P900 you realise JUST how many things are different, its a fantastic device, trust me.
