Don't know if they still do the route but during the european winter months Britannia have been doing good fares for the last few years...

otherwise check out Garuda or Thai or if you don't mind going via Japan and spending a night there then Japan Airlines do some good deals.

Or you can be a true blue Aussie like me and fly Qantas!

i went via tokyo when i went.. they seem to have the cheapest deals.
Spending a night in tokyo is always fun. and i dunno how long it takes to fly there via other places, but it was a 12hr flgiht to tokyo, then a 8hr one to brisbane...

I do QF from Frankfurt to Sydney via Singapore and return very regularly and from the time you get on in Frankfurt to the time you get off in Sydney is about 21 hours, and that includes the stop

mine was a 3hr stop on the way there, and an overnight (16hour) stop on the way back.

nice and comfy from japan to aus.. had 3 seats to myself on way there, and exit row seats on way back

Checkout Trailfinders.
You can get some good cheap flights there.

My mate just bought a ticket from London to Perth for about £650 flying in December with Cathay Pacific.

to be honest its a bit too la-di-da for me. On Qantas its silver service with the crew all dressed in black and all that...

definitly prefer business class because I can be myself more... i.e. a slob! and I don't feel guilty ordering all those bacardi and cokes!

good onya! you'll love Sydney and Cairns and while Qantas aren't neccessarily the best airline in the world, you'll definitly find them friendly.

Singapore airport is great for a stop over. Its very green in the terminal and feels very tropical. I don't reckon the duty free is very cheap at the airport but if you can get into town you can get some much better deals.
