I've had the same problem with an IR port on my old laptop, and an old nokia. Changing the speed had no effect. I found out that the bad connection was due to a lousy IR port on the PC , I did get it to work, but I had to line up the phone perfectly. The phone had to be perfectly level to the IR port, aproximatly 20-30cm away from the "eye"

Give it a try...
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

The phone is seen only when I try to send something to PC.I feel that some sort of one way communication is enabled. Is it possible?

Nah, it should be seen all the time when in range (provided the IR is turned ON on the phone)
