Hi friends, can anyone help me help my sister? She bought a T65 and all the -ringsignals (Esato and other sources) are played too fast...
...they all sound correct in my T68, but in her T65 they all sound like they're played at double speed. Searched the forum and found a cuple of posts regarding this, but no solution.

Any ideas how to solve it? SW upgrade? Haven't heard/read about any reasons to upgrade the T65...

Well, the only thing U can do is to try with a new SW upgrade, there is nothing in the T65 that U can set.

I noticed this 'problem' too with my T65.
In fact the T65 has more 'timings' then other Ericsson phones have. Most E-Phones have a short note, a long note and a pause.
(eg : a=short A=long p=pauze) The T64 has 4 for each note : a=short a.=medium A=long A.=very long. The same is possible with the pauses : p p. P P. !
I have already made some songs for the T65 and with all the different lenghts it is in fact possible to create songs that really come close to the original timing of the original thing.
I do not know how the T68 songs work but If E is somewhat consistant, they should use the same 'song logic', maybe some-one can
tell me.

I find songs made for the general Ericsson too fast on the T68. I know the EMS format is meant to support a whole lot of information like beats and such that determine the speed of the ring tone. But the T68 doesn;t support this (yet ?). Its a pitty casue using EMELODY it would really easy to write songs otherwise.

My T65 also had speedy ringtones... but if you add a length to all lower case notes it sounds ok. e.g. change the sequence apDEggfpf to a.p.DEg.g.f.p.f. the other length notes seem to work as they are. I tried adding pauses between each note but that sounded weird. If anyone wants the notes sent via email I have ringtones for:
Run DMC walk this way
the exorcist
ghostbusters
take on me
sweet child o'mine
frosty the snowman (sorry, its xmas!)

This sounds strange. A friend of mine also bought a T65. I send some ring tones were I got from esato-wap from my T39 to him. When he tried to play them they played half the speed of mine T39!!

Does the sound speed goes slower and slower with the models, since T39 plays faster than T65 wich plays faster than T68? Would like to know how a T39 tones sound at an T68 Funny...

Hi,
Seems like Ericsson has chosen to add two more tone-lengths to make it possible to make ring-signals better sounding...
...problem seems to be that the new format isn't backward-compatible ("c"->"c." etc, as stated earlier in this thread).

This conversion can be done automatically by the wap-site if the Esato users stated their phones in their personal profile...
...what do you think about that Laffen?

Conversion between -T65 and other phones might be something for EmelodyLab to support also?

Sure, it should not be a problem to convert the existing melodies to "T65 format".

My sister got a confirmation from that they have changed the format for ringsignals in the T65.

They promised that they should be more clear about this in the future, to avoid people thinking that there is a problem in the phone.

However, it is not good to change the format like this...
...especially not when other new -phones like the T68 still use the old format...

I don't have access to a T65 but I've changed the melodies for T65.

T65's accessing http://esato.com/wap/ now receive the melodies with the following changes:

Old format - T65 format
a (short) -> a. (medium)
A (long) = A (long)
p (short pause) = p (short pause)
P (long pause) = P (long pause)

BeeGees, Staying Alive for all except T65:
fgp#appFppDcdfpcdpfppCdpfpG#a

T65:
f.g.p.#a.p.p.Fp.p.Dc.d.f.p.c.d.p.f.p.p.Cd.p.f.p.G#a.

Please let me know if this sounds better (or worse )
