Hi

I read that it would be possible to build mobile phone's with a memory of 1gb and that they would be released in 2004, is this true?
can any one give me more information?
costs, which mobile phones,...

If this would be true, it would be worth waiting next summer to have mobile phones with gigantic memory, though?

Its possable that some of the current fones will have up to 1GB. Panasonic are releasing a 1GB SD card. This should work inside fones such as the SPV range, V600, MPx200 and the A920. Hope that helps.

This article is about a similar thing, Intel memory for phones.... and it claims the first phones to have this new memory will be in stores as early as Q2 2004.

In the meantime, if you're up for a new phone now I'd get it, you can always exchange later anyway.

I have no doubt that large memory will be avlbl for the consumer, simply because there is an increasing demand for it.

That Neonode fone or whatever its called is supposed to be having 1 gig memory.

I believe thats not internal, only when you insert a 1Gb SD card

thats what I said when I got my first PC 286 with 20mb disc, what the hell do I want all that for! Now 160Gb is starting to be a limitation for me!

I guess with e VGA res cameras and ability to play MP3 etc the more the better on the phone
