Hey people,

I bought a bluetooth dongle that came with widcomm software. I plugged it into windows XP machine and went through setup, all fine. When i go to configure the software i enter the name of the connection, then go to services and nothing comes up, there are no services. I can pair the connection with my SE T610 and my pc recognises the phone and vice versa but cannot use it.

I tried installing it on my laptop and everything works fine, services are all available and file transfer works great.

So whats the deal with my desktop? Any ideas?

try uninstalling the bluetooth, and installing it again
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

I had problems with my dongle on XP also. Have you got the latest TECOM drivers? The softwear I got with my dongle was rubbish and wouldn't work but when I downloaded the TECOM softwear it was fine.

Try this link also:

no mate i dont have mc.afee.

Noone else seems to have this problem, i've searched everywhere. Everytime i open the software it asks to be configured and starts again. I go through the enter name and select services, although there's nothing in the services pane. It finds my phone alright and my phone finds my pc but i cant do anything, cannot connect.

I'm running a LAN from my machine, i dont know if that is conflicting.

I'm close to sending it back, please help :'(

Try to do this:
Check the value of keys in reester: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\... (0 - disable, 1 - enable). Just read the parameter name and change nessesary. After change reboot the computer. May be you can compare reester keys with reester on your laptop.

hmm, nothing to write home about in the registry. Theres only one entry named ServerStopped and i cant change it.

This is quite bizarre. The initial bluetooth configuration just keeps restarting everytime I go to My Bluetooth Places. Something must be corrupted in my xp setup. I read a thread saying i should reinstall windows but this seems a bit drastic, however if noone has any better ideas i guess i'll have to.

Fixed

To whoever is interested i reinstalled windows and fixed the problem, yay. I can now use bluetooth to transfer stuff to my t610, wahoo.

Now I'm having trouble synchronizing using XNTDConnect, not sure how to set this up, probably just not identifying the right port or something.

Any ideas?

Try checking the ports. There should only be one port enabled. I had two ports turned-on when I installed XNTDConnect, my PC could not see the phone either.

After doing that and it still wouldn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling XNTDConnect.

I've given up on synching outlook, I'm more interested in connecting via bluetooth with Float's Mobile Agent, do you know it?

Anyone know how to do this?
