Hold Right Joystick to 'Find Contact'??? |

I'm new to the T610. Upgraded from the T68. I have about 45 Contacts beginning with the letter 'M'.
I used to be able to hold the joystick right to get a convenient 'Find Contact' screen. I would type in 'mik' and get to 'Mike'
Is there a way to get this screen on the T610? I probably use this function the most...
I saw this review and it shows a picture of the screen:

Does anybody know how to get to the 'Find' screen?

Go to my shortcuts and edit it so that the find contact option is first on the list. Now when you pres left you'll get this in stead of the create a new message option. I hope this helps to solve your problem. |

Tried it.
It's the same as moving the Joystick down.
It gives me the top of the Phonebook List.
I want to be able to type in several letters and then search, like the T68. |

The shorcut u want a position 1 is "Call Contact", not Find contact.. try it.. should work |

Same thing happens: It goes to the Phonebook List starting with 'A'.
The T68 had a way to enter the firs few letters of a name:
(Typing 'Mik' would get me past the 30 or so "M" names I have and get me directly to the "Mikes")
Maybe SE left this option out. Too bad, because I used it constantly... |

Very strange.. I have a T610 with R3C002. My first shortcut is Call Contact. When I move the joystick to the left, I get a screen with Call Contact as the title, and a prompt for "find". I can then type any characters i want.. for instance, typing Ri gets me al the contacts starting with Ri.. |

Well mine's R1L softwear and I can type the first letter of the contact to find it no problem.

I can type the first, but I'm trying to type a couple. It takes for ever for me to scroll thru my "M"s |

Hmm yeah I see what you mean, when you do the joystick shortcut you can only enter the first letter, but if you choose call contact from the menu you can type more.

Not me.... Even when I go to Call Contact in the Phonebook menu...
I'm in the US, and I guess I can't upgrade...
Any suggestions? |

Dunno about upgrades in the US - surely there must be a service centre there somewhere?

on that website it clearly says that holding the joystick RIGHT (ie not left, so it's nothing to do with the shortcut menu) takes you to "call contact". mine takes me to the menu (yes, same as just pressing right and letting go).
another thing, ot get to my first option in my shortcuts i don't hae to HOLD left, i just press it once.
pressing up give me a message "entered address is invalid. please retype and try again". i still haven';t found where to edit this address. anyone? |

when you press up you're connecting to your WAP home page. to edit this, connect to a WAP site you want as your home page, once it has loaded press More > Set as homepage
