I've been browsing the manual and this board a lot, still I'm not sure if what I want to do is possible. I'm planning to use some sounds I ripped from several games in .wav-format as my personal ringtones. But I'm not sure if I can upload anything other than midi files to my T300? Or would I have to convert them first to some proprietary format before I can use it on my phone? Any info appreciated.

.wav does not work on T300 so you will need to convert to .imy or .mid

...if it's sound effects from games you want to use, you will most probably not be able to convert them at all....
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

Because it has too many effects that cannot be generated by the chip via MIDI? Well, I gotta try. Never heard of .imy though. Which tool can convert to it? Thanks.

You can convert it to .amr with AMR converter. But amr is very silent (on my phone and my friend's T300 too).

If you want video game midis go to vgmusic.com. You might find what you're looking 4.

I've tried both AMR converter and AMR Online Converter. The latter seems to offer more options such as selecting more frequencys. I've tried both tools for creating some small sound effects, none of which were played back on the phone. After transfer they show up under sounds but they do have a MEMO-symbol (...) next to it and not a sound symbol. When I click on them I hear nothing at all.

Where can I read about which frequencies are allowed for sound and also what are the specs for pics to be used? I'd like to set my own background. Thanks again.

BTW, I doubt I can find any of those sounds I want online already, cause these are certain effects from the game Starcraft and Descent...
