I think will relase t630 firmware on t610. The hardware is the same on booth phones the only diffrense is the screen. So it will be teoreticly possible. Just look at t68 to t68i.

What I heard on the new software (T630) is that it is the same as the one on theT610, so it won't change anything, except the new menu without the shortcuts. |

what's the point of bringing out new phones which have the same specs but with one difference?

well the T630 does have software in it to interpolate the standard cam pics up to VGA size and I suppose some people might like that in the T610.
I doubt you can put the T630 firmware into the T610 but I suspect may add a few features into the T610 such as the one I just mentioned

+ wireless village
I expect they would want to promote this by implementing it on as many phones as possible....
(by the way, the text labeles for wireless village are already there)

Well if they do as they say and allow software upgrades online then I can't see why you can't try and see if it works, they can't exactly stop you. |

If they allow us to update phones other than the likes of the P900 etc then it will most certainly have controls in it to ensure it is updating the right phone, presumably in much the same way it does at the service centre.
Personally I don't see this self upgrade ability for these sorts of phones
