Multimedia Messaging Service
a way to send video, pictures and text messages on mobilephones... to do it you first of all need a phone that supports MMS, and your mobileoperator must have MMS in their network |

The 'video clip' in the MMS I gotten is GIF animations
so I can edit the MMS and choose the animation as screensaver
and choose any picure as background picture.
Right now I got the sleeping bear Z z animation as screensaver
instead of the logo. |

yeah... that's one of the features of MMS although when using GSM/GPRS the speed isn't so high, so anything other than small animated GIF pictures will probably not be sent through the GSM network... not until 3G is available that you'll be able to send real videoclips... |

At the moment ericsson MMS supports 30k size messages sent from t68 to t68 or to email, 50k size messages sent from email to t68.
The files you can send are gif, jpg, ringtones and obviously you can add your text. You can as well send a theme, but it's done from the themes menu, so no other things can be added to that MMS. You can also send calendar events.
The messages look like a powerpoint slideshow, by means of pages after each other, each of them having one of each attachable objects. You can set the page timing, this is done by SMIL -synchronized multimedia integration language that resembles html, it's another markup language- that is also an attached text file. |

In response to an earlier post cc Vodafone> voda does not yet support mms but will be the first uk operator to do so very soon. They are going to recall all voda t68 phones and upgrade them to mms for free when the sw comes out! Ed
