this may sound silly, but could someone please tell me what can I do if I had an infrared "thing"  connected to my pc and with my T610?
are there things that can only be done using a bluetooth?

you can do the same with IR that you can do with bluetooth, i.e. send and receive pictures, themes and ringtones. You can also send games to the phone but it depends on the phone whether you can send them back to the pc

ok,but can I sync contacts between outlook and the phone and also sync my calendar with outlook using infrared?how much slower is infrared than bluetooth?and i'm also a bit worried about radiation that comes from bluetooth. |

yes you can do all that with BT or IR. BT is faster. take a look at this thread from wrath000 for the details.
I can't comment on radiation hazzards but if it worries you, you can prob get a radiation suit on ebay!
No what I mean is it must be safe, as safe as using any radio transmitter I guess and probably no where near as powerful as those you hold and talk into!
