T226/Data Cable/Dial up Internet on my laptop |

I am sure this had been covered before, but I don't find it on a search; sorry.
I have a T226 and would like to attach it my laptop to access the internet via dialup on my ISP.
The serial cable says it can do this. (At least that is how I read it) The USB cable says the phone must have a modem.
So, my question; can I do what I want with either cable (preferably the USB), if so, which, and do I need any software.
Thanks. |

Yes, provided they are OEM cables or equivalent. The USB cable is basically a serial cable with a built-in USB-Serial adapter.
You only need the modem driver from SE... if one is not available, you can substitute it with another SE modem driver, such as T300.
