Hi!
Does anyone know, what is the working frequency of 3G (WCDMA / UMTS)?
As we all know GSM has 3 frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. Plus one newcomer in family of GSM: 850 Mhz. |

Well it depends on where you live  att is going to do some testing for 3g, i believe it is gonna be 1900mhz cdma...
for japan, they use 2100mhz, yes 2.1 ghz...those people are just way too advanced

But what about SonyEricsson Z1010? Which 3G frequency this phone use? 1900? 2100? Both?
When new GSM-phone goes on market, there are always information that phone works 900/1800 MHz (and 1900 MHz). But when new 3G phone will be available there no information about frequency. |

Just got answer from SonyEricsson Customer Care Center:
WCDMA uses the frequency range TX: 1920-1980 Mhz and RX: 2110 - 2170 Mhz. |

So does that mean that the z1010 will be able to use all of the frequencies for WCDMA ? |

Ive bin told the asia 3g network fones dont work with european 3g networks. So theres 2 'bands' for you. Add the usa cock up of spliting their 3g band and uve got 3 different 3g bands. Its gsm all over again!

Seems that there are only one 3G freguency -- as SonyEricsson says about Z1010:
Tx stands for Transmitter and Rx stands for Receiver, so naturally both frequencies are supported. A phone always has both Tx and Rx values. |
