According to ZDNet (Portugal), Nokia is getting ready to launch 35 (??????) new phones in order to boost sales that are not growing up as much as Nokia wanted, despite the income increase in Q3.

Beware for the NOKIA FLOOD!!!!
I'm kinda curious to know what idiotic design have they come up to this time. Maybe triangular keys?

P.S.-Please if anyone can confirm this "rumour" from another source, please post it here. [addsig]

I'll keep your suggestion of using babelfish, just for respect (and as a tip for other esatoans).

You're not trying to tech Portuguese to a Portuguese guy, are you?

Yes, the title mentions 35% increase in profit but deeper in the article they mention:

«Para impulsionar as vendas que cresceram de uma forma fraca nos dois últimos anos a Nokia está a apostar no lançamento de 35 novos modelos de telefones móveis.»

Wich can be freely translated to:

«To boost sales which had a weak increase in the last two years, Nokia is betting on the launch of 35 new mobile phone models».

OK, OK, i'll change my avatar so it says "From: Portugal"...hmmm...or maybe not, it's funnyer as it is. [addsig]

Wow ... 35 new models? That's a staggering 2 models every month...

Nokia designers probably got whipped and chained to their desk to churn something out to make so many phones....

I'd assume the 35 models probably cater to CDMA, GSM, 3G, PCS, etc... networks. That'll work out to less than 7 models for each network ... sounds about right too ...

Nokia is looking to expand in South America and surely will need to release lotsa models for that end alone.

I think it's the usual Nokia behaviour anyway
