Hi,
can anyone please telll me if there's such thing as a virus for a T610. I want to install some games I found for free on my t610 dot com, but am worried that they may contain viruses. Is this possible?
I had a T610 and installed some themes that I found and shortly afterwards, the phone refused to switch on. It's probably just a coincidence, but I thought I'd check.
Thanks.

No, so far T610 has been pretty much virus free
As a matter of fact, I havn't heard of any JAVA/mophun viruses. I doubt it's possible. (at least not on the T610 implementation)

You are a funny man, kid. :-) Virus on a phone can be only for few people (the stupid one) and it will have the form of SMS or MMS and it would have message like this: This is a virus. Please format your phone and delete your contacts. Thank you. Your virus. :-D:-D:-D:-):-) so no virus on phones.

If you have a look on geribaldi's wap site under the tools and tests there is a virus protector which claims to protect your phone against wap virus'. I have not tried it though. Maybe geribaldi can shed some light on the matter. Sorry i cant provide a link from my phone

Eek! I've had that virus. I deleted all of my contacts and everything.
I couldn't find my contacts after that. |

why dont someone just infect their own comp with a virus and send a picture to their phone??
its stupid but its for research..and if u r suggesting that since i asked this why dont i just do it..its cuz i dont know much about computers and so therefore finding a virus would be hard..if u know what i mean.. |

Viruses on phones are "ALMOST" impossible.....obviously you can send SMS ones that confuse muppets who know nothing about mobiles and notes etc.
In terms of Java and Mophun apps ya can't do a virus as they run in a "sandbox" environment like javascipt does for your browser where the programs have limited access to system resources on purpose to prevent any kind of malicious (did I spell that correctly?) damage you could however make an app that pretended to be a virus but it could not do any damage....as the program would not be allowed to try and del phone nums etc even if it tried
I said almost impossible cos nothing is impossible if you try hard enough but some things just aint ever gonna work....like perpetual motion

On a T610 a virus is almost impossible, but on phones running an operating system (P800!) I fear it is...
