T610 Vodafone casing logo removal, the easy way |

Hi everyone,
I've searched for ways to remove the logos, but none of the methods I found worked, so I thought I'd share this one with you all: PCI backplates!
Most of these have razor sharp edges, but when used at the right angle they won't scratch the phone. Just cleaned up my T610, and it looks great[*].
Nick a PCI plate off your mate's PC. Keep the edge of the plate completely flat against the surface of the phone, and gently scrape at the logos until you find the right angle that will take them off. For the front logo, scrape away from the keys, or you'll get red dust in the gaps. Don't push down too hard, and be careful with keeping the edge of the plate flat against the phone.
Hope this helps some of you who don't have fingernails good enough!
[*] Looks great, except I slipped at one point and the plate was no longer flat and scratched the metal a tiny bit. Should be able to fix that with emery paper though...

GENIUS!!!!! this works great!!
it can basically be anything metal from a pc case, i used a blanking plate for a 5 1/4 " bay. at first i was very sceptical then i thought even scratches look better than that logo. so i started (a bit too hard) so there are few scratches on the right (nothing major, they follow the direction of the brushed metal look) but the rest of it is perfect. just go up and down quickly with nearly no force. works a treat!! |

I find a 20p coin is the best as it has semi straight edges... I've removed a few Vodafone logo's from about 6 handsets and none even got scratched in the process.
Just give the T610 a good rub down the grain to the metal with some good cleaning fluid and it looks fab, as how it should look like when it was born! |

Em, no dont use metal. Pretty dodgy. Very easy way to do it.
With a simple rubber.
From another forum:--
The two brandings on the outside cover can be removed easily with an eraser, for instance Pelikan BR40 (red/blue).
Just use the blue side and rub with little pressure and fast over the two brandings. Be careful with the branding on the front side so that no dirt gets between the keys.

I used an angle grinder to get rid of my logo. Looks a lot different to normal T610's now
