I’ve read a lot about people damaging their screens, scratching them, poking holes in them!
Should I get a screen protector? Should I buy this one, should I buy that one?
I’m one of those sad people who hangs out in hellish places and never stays anywhere long enough to have anything shipped to me (including tax bills)!
But I do get to see the bright lights of airport shopping malls.
Heathrow, Schipol, they are all the same (I’m sure someone will correct me). Some poorly incentivised sales person sees you eying up the PDAs, asks if they can help, only to discover you’re looking for a ‘screen saver’! Huh! I’ve given up on disappointing sales people.
So I’m sat in Bucharest airport, eying up some latin chick behind a booth ogling at her wares, when I notice that she’s got some rather appealing A4, plastic, transparent, quite rigid, document holders.
Well I’m charmed. So I take out my stylus (as you do) and give it a good poke, flexes a bit, slides like a baby and not a squeak as I slide my stylus all over her surface. She charmed me!
After this exhilarating experience I settled down.
I decided I would buy my celluloid friend.
I first did the finger test – stuck my stylus very hard into my finger, yeah a big indent in my finger.
I them place my celluloid babe in between my finger and aforementioned stylus. Finger, not a mark.
So I borrowed scissors from the latin chick, made a paper stencil of my screen size, (use the screen backlight to help) and carefully cut my delicious screen protector slightly larger than the screen. I then slipped my slightly oversized, new baby into position (on my P800 there is a small gap between the screen and the case). ‘As snug as a bug in a rug’.
I checked her out! Wherever I touched her, she responded beautifully, just a little more pressure than I was used to. After a day of using her, the only scratches I could find were on my back.
I reckon that for a cost of £.3 I can make 20 screen protectors, this is errrrr, cheap.
I have decided to turn this into a very serious commercial venture:
Stencil - free
Plastic - A4 wallets £1 for 3
Pics of Romanian chick – on request (price negotiable)

Are we talking screen protectors or pics?
Either way you'll need a screen protector.

P.S. Nixin, do you know my friend Dixin?
