According to Expansys the product code for the 256MB Duo's they have available are the 256 PRO DUO's. With the navy high speed duo's pictured, I have pre-ordered one and expansys say they are compatible with the P800 so if it turns out they are not then I will not pay for the goods. The architecture of the normal MS Duo's will not allow for anything above 128MB so either expansys are getting their hands on something not announced yet ( like a select function on the memory) or they have ordered the pro duo which is currently not compatible with the P800

And again the same thread.. instead of searching and first reading what we have told and if there was something to addition, just go further in that thread....

THERE IS NO MS DUO 256 !! it doesn't exist, it's a mistake and it is a MS DUO PRO

I asked SE

Dear Sir or Madam

www.expansys.com is advertising the new Sony Duo 256mb as being compatibale with the P800. Could you confirm this before I place my order. Also, could you clarify the situation regarding the compatibility of the P800 and Duo Pro cards. Is a firmware upgrade needed to enable operation of this Duo Pro sticks with the P800?
----------------

They responded with

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre.

This is NOT compatable, the P800 is only built and designed to work with 128MB or less. It will also not work with the other cards mentioned in your email, unfortunatly this is the design and therefore a software upgrade will not enable this.

Please contact the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre again if we can assist you further.

Kind Regards,
Samantha McKay

Pretty clear I think!

I love how everyone is so observant, I can start to see why ppl get peeved when ppl post stuff up without looking at any of the recent topics.

well, i got off the phone with SE on Friday and I was talking to someone who works in the new corporate office for Canada, he has a p800 which he says works with the 256mb duo pro and he is waiting for the 1gig one to try it, he expects that it will will work too, i asked him why the book says 128, he said the books are not updated yet and the will say up to 128 or greater from now on. I assume someone that works for SE wouldnt lie to me.

By the way if you are on Fido/Microcell and want a bluetooth headset cheap, he said they will be promoting them real soon... I confirmed this later that day with Fido, and they were wondering how I found out. However they wont divulge any details about the promo, bastards!!!

Has anyone tried the new memory stick duo yet? It has alot faster data transfer rate (100Mbps). Here is the model number MSH-M128A
I just ordered one from sony. I finally decided to spend the money on a new duo, I'm broke what can I say.

I have a dark blue one , MS Duo 128mb high-speed
I noticed no real difference on the phone or on transfer with the cradle (logic, it's serial)...
Maybe with a PC multi-card reader. (???)
Speed is up to 160Mbps in stead of 20Mbps... but if the P800 can't support more then 20 for example, it will stay 20.. like a CD-R who can go 48x, if your writer only support 4x, it will stay 4x !
