I just bought an IrDA. It didn't come with any programs to transfer my files, to my computer and to my phone. I was wondering if anybody had anykind of program that I could transfer files from my phone to my pc or from my pc to my phone. Or is it even possible. I have a T616.

You don't need any programs to do that. Just install the drivers, then activate infra on your phone, put the phones infra in direct line with your IR on your PC, then right click on file you want to send and click to a nearby computer. By the way, next time use search. This was discussed before.

I just bought a t610 to replace my nokia 6210. I decided to buy SE to be different. I have problem connecting to my pc though, which is a real drag. I already installed the communication suite (mobile phone monitor) to the pc but it doesn't detect my t610. I don't think I have a with my IR since my sister's nokia 6100 and my old nokia 6210 connects to it without any problem. I'm using win xp professional edition. Help guys...in need to personalize my phone.

Have you activated it and put it in direct line of sight?

Yes, it's already in direct line with the IR. It has "t610 is in range" icon displayed in the system tray. But the SE mobile phone monitor does not. It's the SE software that does not recognize the phone. I tried reinstalling the software over and over. I even tweaked at the windows control panel, to no avail, it still does not connect. I also tried to transfer files using win xp's wireless link and still no transfer is done.

Try to lower maximum speed, mayod that would help. Did you tried it with another phone?

My old nokia phone works with the IR perfectly with current setting. Are you referring to the maximum speed option in the IR applet? I'l try to change the ir speed then. Someone suggested that I change the IR settings in the BIOS...do you think that is safe. Thanks.

Yes, I meant that. I think the IR settings in BIOS aren't risky. I changed it all the times and nothing wrong happened.

I tried changing the maximum connect rate several times with all the different speed. Still the files I am sending to my phone won't work. I'll try the changing the BIOS. What's the right speed setting?

You dont need the mobile phone monitor working, just send *.mid, *.jar or *.jpg or *.thm files directly to you mobile phone by right clicking the file -> send to -> IR recipient)

"no IR recipient"? is your phone's IR on and lined-up with your IR device window? the message means it can't find the phone.

like i said, i can transfer jpeg pics to my phone by IR via the software provided by MA-620. but i do not have that option of IR receipient when i right-click on the pic in my winxp (home)

isnt it strange?

anyway, the software doesnt recognise .gif and .thm files so i cant upload my theme at all.

very frustrating.
