I've figured out a way to get around this little roadblock. First of all, you need to go download Anvil Studios. You can do this at anvilstudio.com This is a midi composer/ modifier. Now open the midi you want to use as a ringer in Anvil Studio. Click on "edit", and scroll down to " Insert rest s into all tracks." Select one full measure. Now save the midi, and send it to your phone via infrared/ bluetooth. Now, if your phone is the same as mine, it would only ring for like 10 seconds before voicemail picks up. Since this trick adds about 2 seconds of silence before the ringer starts, this could be a problem, right? Wrong. All you need to do is insert your sim card in a Nokia phone. Go to the forwarding menu and select forward when not able to take call. The phone will then ask you how many seconds to wait before voicemail picks up. 20 seconds is perfect. Now put your sim card back in your phone... and you're done.Ringers begin like they are supposed to.

The increasing ring lasts 3 seconds, so all you have to do is insert 3 seconds of silence. If you do that, though, you loose first 3 seconds of ringing....
Also, you don't need to insert the SIM into nokia to control voice mail delays, simply use the network control codes...
If I had all the answers, I wouldn't have any questions.

no, it inserts about 2.5 secons of silence... then starts the ringer. but it still vibrates, so u can even answer before it rings if you need to. There may be other ways to change how long the phone rings before voicemail. this was the only way i knew how. it's easy too.

Hey great workaround! But all we're doing is increase the length of ringing tone before the phone goes to voicemail. There's still the 3-5 seconds delay before we hear the ringtone. I suppose its the best we can do right now. Thanks for sharing the tip.

When you insert a measure, the ammount of time it inserts depends on the speed (bpm - beats per minute) of the song. It will be more for slower, and less for faster songs... If you insert 3 seconds you will insert exactly enough to avoid the increasing ring

I am sorry but this trick sounds dumb to me (no offense please).
When the fone is set to increase at least u can hear the beep and not loose much time to pick up, but with this trick, u are inserting a mute that postpone the ring, meaning, u loosing 3 seconds...why dont you just keep it the way it is, and just add more seconds to the ring before voice mail pics up???
To me this trick makes u answer at least 3 seconds late(cause it is muted and u dont always have it next to u to feel it vibrate).
do u get my point?

i just hate how with increasing ring i don't hear the start of my midis. besides, i don't really need to answer my phone REALLY quickly. if the increasing ring doesn't annoy the piss out of you, then this trick isn't for you.
