Is it possible to extract the new software in T68i and replace the old one in T68 through infra-red? |

I hope this will come true
I guess some terribly talented crackers will have this ability |

The infra red isn't the way to do it, it needs to be "flashed" at a service centre. Its free, there is no need for a crack. The T68i software wont run on T68 anyway. The software will look for SonyEricsson parts only. T68 doesn't have SonyEricsson parts only Ericsson. |

To do that, you need to change the IMEI number on t68m, cause the software for th t68i can only be flashed to a phone with a t68i IMEI number.... *GOOD LUCK* |

Yah...
itīs right, you canīt do it through infra red... You need to flash it, and it is not an upgrade, it is a whole new software, for the t68m that comes, and when it have been flashed, it wonīt be possible to go back...
And if you are going to flash it, you need some special hardware, to plug into your computer(very secure method), if a hacker wantīs to flash the phone, he does it from the EMMA II server, and the EMMA II server goes and checks if this little hardware thing(i think it is called a "donkey") and if itīs not there you wonīt be able to do it...
I donīt know if it is possible to emulate, this "donkey" but as the wise men says "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE"... |

I doubt you can emulate it.... you also need a service card, everytime you are about to flash a phone it checks the service card (each card contains a certain number of upgrades from) so it's valid.....

EMMA II is the server that hosts all software upgrades for Ericssons mobilephones... it can only be used by servicepoints.... |

Why not wait for the official update? Seems less hassle and legal. Ed
