I just called Sony Ericsson at this #: 1-877-234-3249 'cause I recently bought a AT&T branded T68i off eBay and plan to unlock/firmware upgrade it.
The person who I talked with told me that the latest version for a T68i was R8B015. They said they charge US $37 to send you prepaid shipping so you can ship your phone out to them for the firmware upgrade (free shipping both ways). I guess it's not bad at all 
Bear in mind I did not ask about unlocking to them, I can do that myself with the logger clients

Well, not to ruin your excitement, but they used to do it for free. Even after they started charging, all you had to do was to call your provider and tell them your phone was "messed up". They would then either offer a free replacement (T-Mobile) or refer you to SE Service for a free "repair".
I did that, stating that SW was "too slow" and they flashed it for free.
$5 for shipping to SE, though... |
