How to make a ringtone/melody and transferring using e.g. IR :

1. Use Notepad in windows.

2. Write the following :

(Use "return" between lines, NOT the space-bar.)

WRITE THIS :

BEGIN:EMELODY
VERSION:1.0
MELODY:ccaapp osv...............................
END:EMELODY

3. Save file as emy (e.g.. starwars.emy)
Remember that when saving file, ALL file-formats should be shown, if you dont do this, it will be saved as a text-file instead.
And turn on sound on the pc.

4. Turn on IR on phone. The pc should reconize the phone now.
Right-click the file you just created,...then you should get a menu that says : send via IR.

5. Screen on phone now says : new melody, play ?
click YES, and after that SAVE melody.

You can copy/paste the melody from e.g. Ericsson GH688/788 Musicbox program into the Notepad.
You can also listen to the melody in Musicbox program.

You can download it here :

Ericsson melodies/ringtones can be found on several places around the web.
