Not sure what the problem is here!
I have had several Orange phones upgraded before with no problems!
I am guessing the phone is a T610 (from the R1a).
YOu should be entitled to a free upgraed within the 12 months warranty period.
Where are you located? If you phone SE thay can tell you where the nearest service centre is. Just take the phone in and get the job done!!

I don't entirely understand the problem but obviously you need to take the phone (whatever model it is) to a Sony Ericsson service centre.
When you say problems upgrading do you mean they couldn't do the upgrade?
I had my t68i updated to the latest firmware and it retained all my settings, pic's in fact everything....it just added some features and enhancements!
Sometimes certain phones may "fail" to update and then basically you might as well give up!
All the serv cent does is connect yer phone to a PC via a special cable and this PC connects to an online server to download the update and this is then "flashed/burned" onto the EEPROM in yer phone.

I had mine upgraded yesterday no problems - it runs a lot faster than it did. Free of charge. RS Electrics in Tottenham - was worth the journey!
