I've traded my T68m in, and am getting a t68i when SE does what they promised and sends me one.
What I'm wondering is, Imelody...
What's it like? Same as T68m only with the ability to control lights and vibrator during the melodies?
Or what?
If it's the same sucky system as t68m i'm getting a T66..

There is a little piano thing and I think the music sounds a little more fancy... But I haven't found the option to control the vibration and stuff yet.... but still looking!

In your personal sounds you can edit your melodies and then by pressing the menu key you can choose some effects: led on and off, light on and off, vibrate on and off, volume levels...
Also other effects like tempo and style and so on...

Hey I've just found that with the option key, you can add effects, set the desired tempo, volume, style (legato or staccato) and duration of your composed melody!!!!

okay i'm gonna try and give 'my' account of the i-melody system..

my previous fones consist of the T65/T68 and they use the e-melody system, and the 2 systems are different.

-the biggest difference as a few other members have pointed out, there is a piano keyboard present. If you use the "side button" (sorry dont the technical name i think..) and press it up, then u can input music usin the keyboard. Not present in e-melody
-the input system is more like nokia (which is good in a way) u can now adjust the length of the notes and this is diagrammatically expressed. Before, there was simply short and long notes (or short, short dotted, long and long dotted). The normal 1-C to 7-B is still present, but now 8 shortens the note and 9 lengthens the note like nokia, previously 8 was +C and 9 was +D. The pause now can be adjusted, octaves by pressin "0" and the accidentals can be inputted by clickin on the # button. It always flattens the note (e.g. from B to Bb) before makin the note sharper (B to B#)
-there are 4 octaves (meanin CDEFGAB/+C+D+E..+B/++C+D..+B/+++C..+++B) if u get wat i mean. Unfortunately, the notes are rather off in pitch where Nokia gets the upperhand. But, Nokia sounds more shrill and only has 3 octaves. Previously in e-melody, there was only 2/3 octaves dependin which handset u were usin.

--in the options menu--

-u can add effects, this includes green LED control, background LCD and keypad light control and vibration control. Also repeats rangin from 1 to infinity, volume control (louder or softer) and settin the volume (custom volume control). Not present in e-melody
-the tempo can be adjusted, also like many other music composin programs on cellular handsets. Not present in e-melody
-overall volume of ringtone can be adjusted. Not present in e-melody
-the style can be changed, from normal to staccato or legato. Staccato, this is when the notes are shorter in length, and legato is when the notes are made to sound more smooth (so notes are played for the full length with slight tenuto). Not present in e-melody
-the duration of the notes can be adjusted to dotted, double dotted and triplets (2/3 length). Previously there was only a dotted option.

there is one thing that the t68i doesn't have which most (if not all) the previous Ericsson handsets could do, if u press "up" u go to the beginnin of the ringtone input, but now in the T68i, u can't do that. To go to the beginnin of the piece, u hafta manually keep goin back by constantly pressin "left"

Overall, i feel that the melody composin system has been upgraded drammatically. I feel it is one of the best in the market. It is more professional and can now produce music similar to nokia. To me, i thought besides the shrill Nokia ringing, the composin system was the best. But after the T68i came out, the T68i's i-melody system is by far better.

sorry for bein so long winded, I hope u got wat i said (i tend to waffle alot!!) and it gives u an idea of wat it's like. ANy questions pleaz do post. I mite not be totally correct, feel free to comment!!

Becuz if u can wait, I could just try sendin the entire melody.. if not I'll just type it in an e-mail. I know u can send with nokia, but i wasn't quite sure about sendin with
hehe i have the mp3 as well! hehe.. great piece!

i'll send the e-mail in about a day, cuz it isn't a problem typin the melody into text form.. it's just that.. i need to sleep now!! .. i'll send it to u thru e-mail if u want it a.s.a.p?? hehehe

I'll take it in any form I can get it in
The longer it is the better

dw@lixom.nu is my email, my phone nr you got if you rather try sms'it
I have no clue if T68i support that now or if you have to wait for MMs but it would be strange if Nokia kan manage to send ringtones in normal SMS'es and not..hmm have to try that

Anyway send it in the way that suits you the best, I'm just happy to get it. Thanks in advanced.
