i'm having trouble accessing the e-mails on my main e-mail server (a POP3 server, from my internet provider) with the mail client on my phone (T68m, R2B, but had the same problem with R1B). my phone logs onto the server, downloads a list of the subjects for all the messages, but not the messages themselves--it shows them with a dotted-line outline in the message list--and then disconnects. then, if i click on one of the messages, it starts connecting again, and supposedly downloads the message. except that it's still showing with a dotted line, and when i click on it now, it shows me just the headers (from:, to:, etc.), but not the message text. if i click again, it will do the same thing again (reconnect, supposedly download the message, etc.), but i will never get more than that.

that said, i have an account on another POP server that works perfectly: it connects, downloads all my messages (not only a message list) completely to the phone, and i can see all of the message: headers, text, and all (with no need to reconnect to the server to get them).

does anyone know what the problem might be? it's more important for me to be able to check my mail on the account that doesn't work, than on the other one... i can always check it with my palm pilot using the phone as a modem (that works fine for both of the accounts), but sometimes i want to check it when i don't have my palm with me. is this a problem with my provider's POP server, or with the phone? (i tend to lean towards the former, since the other POP account works fine with the phone). if the problem is from my provider's end (with their mail server), does anyone have any idea what i should explain to them in order to try to get them to fix it?

thanks in advance for your help

Mine works fine,..both the T68i and m.

I know its different depending on countries/providers and so on.

What I need to do, to get it to work is this :

In the :

pop-server name : use my internet providers pop-name or ip-adress.
On the T68m i can use name, on the T68i I have to use ip-adress.

Smtp server name : use my phone-operators smtp ip-adress.

Dont know if it'll help you

thanks for the reply, but that isn't the problem in my case, since i manage to connect to the pop server and retrieve parts of the messages (at least the message headers). and from a different pop account with a different provider, everything works fine... i was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem was so that i could contact my internet provider and tell them to fix it...
