I have managed to connect my T616 and Palm using the irda, but now I need to transfer the contacts and calendar. I don't know what to do after the connection is made in order to initiate the synchronization. Could someone please help?

Just heard back from SE and they say you can only sync through the PC. You cannot sync between the T616 and a Palm device. Bad news is that this is one of the reasons I bought this phone. Looks like I will have to invest in software that will connect the T616 to Lotus Notes in order to keep this phone. The software costs more than the phone! |

Hey read your post and wanted to shed some light. There are two sure fire ways to send contact between your palm and t600 phone. Since my palm has bt I just went to address on the palm and used the pull down menu and taped send category. This will send everyone in your selected category (eg. All, Personal, Business) also you can beam category too. The final way is to download and install FileZ to your palm. Its like an explorer for your palm. Locate the file AddressDB and beam or send(BT) to your palm. These tips should work. Now if only I could get online on my clie using BT in my t610. |

yep, you can add and send stuff both ways all day long until the cows come home, but you can't sync b/w the two |

Just thought I would add that the XTND software is pretty versatile. With the computer being the middle man, you could sync stuff on the PDA and Phone, but it would be two steps. It really is too bad that you can't sync the two right together. Everyone has to create their own "standard" for things. What a load of crap!
The thing I really like about the XTND software is that it allows me to pick which contacts will be synced with the phone. I have a lot of business contacts that I don't need to carry around with me all the time. Wouldn't be too bad if the phone had categories in the contact area, but it doesn't. |
