i know this is'nt strictlt just to do with the phone but i need an answer to this asap, thats why im posting here as normally people are quick to help
im buying some p800's on ebay and PLEASE could someone tell me if i pay with PAYPAL am i covered if the seller is bogus, im about to buy one p800 with paypal through ebay is it secure for me or can i lose money?

I suggest you check with PayPal and eBay (eBay own PayPal). PayPal, I think so please check with them, can retract a payment.

I bought my P800 on eBay from a reputable trader. She had sold many mobile phones before and her history looked sound.

thanks for reply im trying to find contact numbers for Ebay/paypal on line for ireland but cant..
looks like ill pass on this p800 the one i have has a couple of marks from the keypad so wanted a new one

Just so you know, I bought am item on ebay, used paypal, got ripped off(no item) and never received a refund or any kind of feedback from either company that made me feel that they cared about it. Just my exprerience.

I have excellent experiences.

However, if something is wrong... paypal uses your credit card for payment. If the items are not delivered, get the money back straight from your credit card company! They will help you.

I read somewhere that they do cover you. But you must pay with Paypal throu ebay! so when you buy an item and click on the pay now button throu Ebay. cause you can pay someone with Paypal not thro ebay! Understand!

Oh and the cover limit is not much! I dont think it is as much as what the p800 is worth!

thanx people for the replies, when i went to the send payment page i clicked on paypal user verification link to verirfy it was a bona fide paypal address and the usedrname was a different address than the one the guy wanted me to pay to.. so i put it down to experience i didnt pay any money but he closed the bidding a day early so i won by defualt but things didnt add up with the mail address he gave me etc god this was my first foray into ebay and im pi$$ed Now
