I used T31O connect with my laptop by the Irda. My laptop can find the cell phone and install the driver by itself. However I cannot use laptop to send stuffs to my t310. some people said i need to right click the file, then send to " Another computer", but I did not see another computer in that menu. @_@ anyone can help me to solve it?
thanks |

when the phone is in range (ir is activated and you line it up next to the laptops ir) ...your computer should have an icon appear and say click here to send files etc...click there and you should see an explorer window where you can navigate to the file you wish to send.
this works for me on WinXP....you havent said what OS your running so it may be different.

so its, so that, when is it in range, it apear a new icon near the time, its for IRDA transfer, and a new icon appear automaticly on my desktop. it another computer, or somthing like this, if you doublclick, then a windows appear, and you can choose what file to transfer to your T310.
and one important thing, configure your IRDA transfer to 38,4 kb/s. this may help

SE won't be able to tell you anything helpful.
What you said doesn't quite make sense... you said the PC detected the phone as a modem (an IR modem, to be more specific), and no icon appears on the system tray?

yup. they do not reply me anymore,, @_@
I know that do not make sense, but that really happened on my laptop.
In the control panel, i found Phone and modem options. When i connect my phone with laptop, I can see there are two modem there, one is my laptop's , another is my phone' IR modem. And no any icon appears on yhe system trap. I tried that on my friend's laptop, which using win2000 system, It works well as you guys said, there is the icon appears on the system trap, i can choose file to transfer. (My laptop using Win xp home edition)
and i also tried to use software called "SendFile" to send files, but it always stop after it sent very few percent of the file ( the files include game, music, pic. )

I think you must install a driver, that will detect your phone as a computer. You can find one on SE site in www

I just tried it on an XP machine, works the same as Win2000. Have you install the driver for the IR adapter? |

I think the software is Phone Monitor Options.
I have it in my control panel. I found a problem with that, in the Phone and Modem Options, the cell phone's modem's port is 2. However, in the Phone Monitor Options, in the COM Ports, the COM1 is enabled, COM2 is disabled, and I cannot make COM2 to enabled, because the pc said "The operating system supports Irsockets for infrared communication. All IrComm ports will therefor be disabled." And the Reserved for COM1, COM2 , COM3 are all "No"

I have the exact same problem as andywk, just on T300! I too have both Phone Monitor Options, and Phone and Modem Options. On PaPO, irda port is given as COM4. on PMO, I have 3 ports available, including COM4, but I can't enable and/or reserve it - it gives me the same message that andywk is getting. I really would like to use XTNDConnect freeware to sync Outlook reminders to t300.
HELP!!
I should mention that I am able to send images to my phone from laptop and vice versa. I am using XP pro on Toshiba Tecra 9000. |

I would recommend to preinstall windows and install original drivers for IR adapter. Maybe this would help you.

I have had the orignial IR drivers, and they didn't work. Then today I read more carefully through SE communications suite install instructions where they say that XP does not by default recognize the right phone modem, so I would need to install phone specific modem scripts on that IR driver. I did that, so now under phone and modem options it shows my phone model as the IR modem. But it STILL doesn't work!
I am just about done with this. Any other ideas will be hugely welcome!!! |

Friends,
Yes, it's a big problem to find any result oriented help on this topic. I do have the same problem, but I am using MS Windows 98 OSR 2 as OS on my laptop. Whereas, it works absolutely fantastic on Windows XP in my office laptop. I am experimeting on this issue almost every day.
I am sure that someone of us might get the desired results. If I come across any hint which works out, I will definately put it on this post.
Take care all of u! |

try doing what cody_2 told you to do. i only lowered my irda transfer to 115kb/s and it worked fine with my r520m. My problem was that whenever i tried to connect with my laptop the connection only lasted for a few seconds. when i changed the settings everything worked normal. At the time i was also using win xp home. |
