I have a BT headset, plantronics M3000 (www.plantronics.es) and it work fine with my T610, but when some body call me I can listen his/her name in the phone but not in the Handset.
This is a real problem for me because I want to know who is calling me in order to decide if answer or not.
Anybody can help me?

Thanks.

You have to set your "profile" to suit your needs. Your by-default profile can work but once you set or switch to a handset, you must customise that profile then.

The problem if not settings but if this feature is abailable.

I can do everythig with my T610 and my Headset. Call using voice is not a problem like ansewer and reject calls, I can do it easily.

I am asking if anyone can listen the name of the caller (the person who calling you) in the Headset not in the phone or if it is imposible.

Anybody can help me?

I know the T610 is capable of doing what you want with a cable headset but I'm not sure about the bluetooth type. I have a HBH60 bluetooth headset and cant get the callers name to be announced. It's very annoying I agree !!
In fact if I set the phone to announce names on incoming calls my phone wont swap calls to the headset. Now that's really annoying !!

The problem is that when is says the callers name its instant then the phone rings, you will not get it to say the name through the headset because it takes a second or so to connect to the headset and by the time its connected the headsets missed it and only rings

Precisely. In fact you will also notice that the :bt: headset rings a short while after the phone. I've experienced the same thing about caller name being 'missed' with the HBH-60 and HBH-35 headsets and the T610.

Well, I sure would NOT like to have 'Glendaruel Highlanders' blaring in my ear when wearing headset The discreet 'brrrp' in HBH30 and Plantronics M3000 is good enough for me.
However I have a little issue with my M3000, when voice dialing, I donīt get a tone from the phone.. I press dial key on M3000 for 2 secs, the t610 display says 'say name or command after the tone'. Problem is, i donīt get a tone?! If i wait for 1-2 seconds before saying name, it accepts and when prompted to choose mobile or home etc.
then i get a tone from the phone.
Any1 else out there with a t610/M3000 combo who can shed some light?

PS: I have swedish language, so the 'say name or command after the tone'-bit is freely translated to english I am sure you get the point anyway.

Ok, for me it is not desirable to heard this polifonics tones in mi Headset, but I only wander if it could be the cause I do not heard the name of the caller in the Headset.
Other problem is that I can not record the voice labels using the Headset and I have to do it directly in the Phone.
it is the same for you? only for BT headset? (what about cable?)

OK OK this headset thing is starting to PXXs me off. I used my headset with the P800, my headset being the HBH-30. And every time the phone rang, and it was say my wife, because I have a voice dial for her, it came through on my headset with my wifes name before the phone rang. Now I know it can be done on the P800, so why not on the T68i or T610. I can promise you it does work on the P800 and the HBH-30 so why not on the others.

Did anyone try this with the new firmware? And what about personal ringtones, do they work with a Bluetooth-headset?

Regarding ringtones in the headset... I am pretty sure that that wouldn't work at all! the phone would have to stream the sound to the headset. Further more, when I connect to my headset from my computer, it rings. I would assume, and correct me if i am in errror, that the heaset has a default "I am being requested, shall i accept the connection" indicator programmed into it, which cannot be changed, and will always play when the hbh is queried.

Regarding voice tags being recorded from the hbh, It doesn't work, give up!! The phone will not keep the hbh connected for very long when there is not a call in progress.

And for the issue at hand, it seems that the phone just waits too long to connect to the hbh... I would say, give everyone a new ring tone, and let music do the talking.

The post regarding the delay in time when the headset actually answers could well explain why the name gets missed out. I am using SE HPR-20, the wired headphones with FM and there is obviously no problem with that. Havn't used the Bt models yet. But this is a valid point to consider before buying one i guess!
