Conversion??? What is that?? |

Hi guys.
Just wondering... On the T68 FAQ, SE states that our T68m will go through a conversion, and after that T68m=T68i. What is a conversion? Is it a software- or hardwarecase? And what are they doing with our phones since it will be no way back to the old setup after the conversion? Why are they calling this a conversion and not an update/upgrade? Any good answers on these questions?

presume it is just the software side of things. It is highly unlikely that we'll get new hardware.... |

I presume that too, but what are they doing since there is no way back after the conversion?? What's so special this time? That's why I wondered if they would do something with the hardware... But I don't know... |

yeah, the no going back is strange.
i suppose service centers dont let you put R1B on your phone though do they. Maybe they are just saying, they wont offer the old software, once the new one is out... |

Im rather sure that its only a SW solution - like with the R380s -> R380e or what Cytech and other spoked about.
It might be as simple as they dont have an SW to flash it from T68i(filesystem or whatever the diffrences are) to T68m.
And its said to be done in 20min. so I dont can imagine that they have time to do any HW changes.
Thats my opinion!

as long as SE didn't lie to me, i can confirm it's only a software update. i asked this specific question (i.e. whether "conversion" also implied a hardware modification, or if it was only software), and this is the answer i got:
