First of all, excellent Web Site, keep up the good work.

I am having a problem with downloading s/savers, games or themes to my Sony T610. I am running XP and have a data cable, the s/ware supplied with it allows me to d/load ringtones and pictures fine, but doesn't support .thm, .jar/.jad files or animated gifs - have tried to change file type, no luck.

I then installed the s/ware supplied with the phone but that doesn't recognise my phone. Checked the settings in Phone Monitor (correct COM port etc.) and tested via HyperTerm, all OK but still the s/ware states no T610 detected.

Finally I downloaded SendFile as it looked ideal. Installs correctly but I get an "Active X object cannot be created" error every time I run it (re-installed, rebooted, no luck).

What am I doing wrong? I don't have a Bluetooth device and the PC doesn't have infra-red so can only use the data cable method - any suggestions please?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your help but my problem is not the cable per se as I can use it to d/load ringtones, pics txt msgs etc. I just can't get the generic SE s/ware or the Phone Manager supplied with the cable to 'see' themes, games or animated gifs.

Thanks again, any help would be great.

Well, it's not an OEM or equivalent cable.

I suggest you completely remove the software that comes with your cable, reboot, and install the SE stuff instead.
